IKEA appreciates the little things...

After a dishwasher run, you've probably experienced the pooling of water on the tops of your inverted coffee mugs.  Well, a fifty cent IKEA Trofe coffee mug takes care of that problem with a small notch on the bottom ring to drain away the water.  Why hasn't anyone else thought of this?  [via Gizmodo

Nice little touch. I tend to leave stuff to drip dry rather than get the dish cloth out striaght away, so it is annoying when I think they are dry and ready to put away, that every time I pick one up, I then have to give it a quick dry as well.

If I've found that mine have pools of water in them when I open the dishwasher, I just turn them over and leave the drawer open for a bit ... then I put them away. Should all cups have those little notches? Sure! But I'm not buying new cups just to get them.

(But if they're thinking about what makes a good cup, they might want to consider big fingers and being able to put more than one into the handle.)
