Treehugger reports on a design contest entry that addresses the redundancy of motors in your kitchen that powers your appliances. This conceptual design entry named Spin, by Israeli designer Iftah Poran, proposes a more sustainable approach of one motor mounted on your countertop with attachments for different purposes as shown above for a juicer, blender, and coffee blender.
